Training courses for the needs of local government

In accordance with the working plan, the Macedonian Centre for Energetic Efficiency - MACEF, organized four training courses for the counsellors of municipalities that gravitate towards the centres in Skopje, Mavrovo, Kavadarci and Kocani, called "Energetic efficiency as a possibility to reduce the municipalities' costs".

The programme of these courses covers several issues, such as the authority of municipalities defined by the law, the local government and energetic policy, energetic efficiency projects, water needs and the role of correct management, possible field of action, motivating the municipality, public lighting, heating energy supply and use of permanent energetic resources, possibilities for changing the consuming and the type of transport fuels in the Republic of Macedonia.

The first training course took place in the Karpos municipality in Skopje, on 2 and 3 October 2003.

Participants at the course were 17 counsellors from eight municipalities in Skopje and 4 representatives from the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Mining Institute - Skopje and the private company TERMOKING, also from Skopje.

The second training course took place on 9 and 10 October 2003, at the "Makpetrol" Hotel in Mavrovo, and it was attended by 10 counsellors from the municipalities Mavrovo, Oslomej, Srbinovo, Vrutok and Gostivar, two students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering - Skopje, and two representatives from the Faculty of Forestry - Skopje, and JPSSAP of the Republic of Macedonia.

The third course took place on 16 and 17 October 2003 at the "Feni" Hotel - Kavdarci. It was attended by 17 counsellors from the municipalities Kavadarci, Konopiste, Demir Kapija, Gradsko, Rosoman, Negotino and Veles, two representatives from  FKN and MHEC Lukar and two students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering-Skopje.

The last of the four training courses took place on 6 and 7 November 2003 in Kocani. The subject of discussion was "Energetic efficiency as a possibility to reduce the municipalities' costs", and the course was attended by the Mayor of Orizari municipality, 14 counsellors from the municipalities Oblesevo, Vinica, Orizari, Kocani and Cesinovo, two representatives from UHMR in Skopje, three students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering - Skopje and one representative from ESM - Kocani.
