“Pre-election month of golden fish”

The civil society organization “AGTIS” from Prilep is greeting the Parliamentary Elections in Macedonia with a project called “Pre-election month of golden fish”. The main goal of the project is to contribute towards the process of populist demystification and decontamination of the political election campaigns and (especially) the election campaigns of the various political parties, and contribute towards improving the political and democratic culture of the actors in the election processes.

The project activities will be directed towards the political parties, the experts in the field of democracy and election right and the analysts of the political life; the public opinion creators, the foreign and domestic monitoring organizations; NGO, the institutions related to the European integration, the members of parliament, government officials and others.

“The populism is the lowest level of political propaganda and it is mostly applied in the poor countries, with a low average socio-cultural standard, in the countries that lack democratic tradition”, says Aleksandar Cvetkoski from “AGTIS”. According to him, the political programmes have to address the following issues: Who knows better: the country or the individual? How can you work on creating business environment? How can you alleviate the problem of unemployment? What will you do regarding the corruption in the country? “Without the answers to these questions, we do not have election programmes, but declarations of a “partisan way of leading/running the country”, recons Cvetkoski.

All information regarding the “AGTIS” project and campaign can be found on www.stisnizelba.com.mk.
