Action

Show resistance say no” are suing Telekom

The coordinative body of the civic action “Show resistance say no” is pressing charges against “Makedonski Telekomunikacii” for the damage done to the citizens with the recent increase of prices of the fixed telephony. According to their analysis, in the period between 1 July 2003 and 31 July 2004, the price of the subscription increased by 94.5 %, the price of the local impulse by 474% (in the low tariff) and 237 in the high tariff. In the meantime, the free impulses have been reduced and completely suspended. The Coordinative Body analyses show that …..of free impulses only, damaged the beneficiaries for over 40 million Euros.

“After we had been waiting in vain for 3 months to receive an answer to our protest letters and requests for the Government to publicly announce the concession contract and the decisions for prices’ modification in the fixed telephony, we are convinced that our elected delegates show no interest at all to solve this problem. Such a behaviour on their part leads to the conclusion that AD “Makedonski Telekomunikacii” acts free-willingly and arrogantly which is (especially) due to the direct support it receives by certain government structures”, say the members of the Coordinative Body. The civic action “Show resistance say no” has sent a second amendment of the petition to the National market Inspector in which they ask of it to intervene concerning the greater transparency in the telephone bills and their previous protest against the illegal calculations of the interest rates to the invoices which had been returned as non-valid and for which complaints had been lodged.
