3 July: Concert on the occasion of the Dutch presidency with the EU

On the occasion of the Dutch presidency with the EU starting on 1 July, the Dutch Embassy in the Republic of Macedonia, in cooperation with the Bureau of Culture at the City of Skopje, organizes a jazz-concert as part of the Skopje Cultural Summer 2004. The concert takes place on 3 July, 8.30 p.m. at Kursumli An in the Old Skopje Bazaar and it will be performed by the "New Cool Collective". The entrance is free. This event is sponsored by Pro-credit Bank and the Hotel "Arka". 

 

5 July: Visit to the processing capacities

On 5 July, the association "Eko-svest" from Skopje organizes a visit to the factories that process plastic and paper waste - "Plastika" and "Komuna". This visit is part of the project for waste separation implemented by this association. The factories, on their part, will demonstrate how the waste is selected and recycled.

 

11 July: International World Population Day

The International World Population Day, declared by the UN has a goal to warn about the problems that tackle all people in this world: the demographic explosion, the lack of food and healthy drinking water, pollution of the environment and the depletion of natural resources, climate changes, natural catastrophes, spreading of the fatal viruses. On this day the countries, especially the more developed ones, are called for to join their forces in order to reduce those problems.

 

10-18 July: International meeting of ecologists and farmers

From 10-18 July in Backovo, Bulgaria an international meeting of ecologists and farmers will take place, where the food problems will be discussed, with a special emphasis on the production of healthy food, organic farming and genetically modified organisms.
