REGIONAL CONFERENCE ON PEACE AND RECONCILIATION
Cooperation of different religions
From February 21 – 23 the Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation hosted the Regional Conference of the Network for Peace and Reconciliation, organized by the European Conference of Churches. The Conference was attended by representatives of local and international non-governmental organizations that operate in the region, churches and religious groups from Albania, Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania and Croatia. The discussion was on several main topics: dialogue and interaction, media and public services and education, and the focus was put on the dialogue between the religions.
BALKAN ASSOCIATION FOR FRIENDSHIP AND COOPERATION
Friendship without borders
The Balkan Association for Friendship and Cooperation is an association that aims to develop the friendship, good neighbourly living and the mutual cooperation between the people of this region. This association’s main offices are in Bitola, and its motto is "Friendship and cooperation without borders", and it realizes its goals through implementation of projects, organization of seminars and round tables, forums and media presentations.
BALKAN ASSOCIATION FOR HUMAN ENVIRONMENT – BENA
Cooperation on scientific and expert level
BENA is an abbreviation of the Balkan Association for Human Environment, which started as a Greek initiative and was established in 1998 in Thessalonica. Its members are scientists and experts that work on various fields connected to the human environment. Active members of BENA are also several scientists and experts from Macedonia, who are included in the Association’s regional projects. Coordinator of the Macedonian National Committee of BENA is Josif Tanevski, PhD, and members are Jordan Pop Jordanov and Gligor Kanevce, at the same time members of the Macedonian Academy of Science and Arts (MANU), and professors Sveto Hadji Jordanov and Petar Petrovski.
