ACTION FOR PROTECTION FROM AIDS

For a safe love

On the day that in many countries is celebrated as the lovers’ day – Saint Valentine (February 14) – the Macedonian Interethnic Associations (MIA), in cooperation with the high school youth of the City of Skopje Office for Fight Against the Drugs organized an action entitled "Beware, the Heart Is a Fragile Thing – Protect it – STOP AIDS".

The action was supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in our country, and included students from 12 high schools in Skopje, who were going around city’s central area, giving people badges and flyers featuring massages about HIV/AIDS prevention. Skopje trendy cafй bars AHA and Capricorn made parties in support of the action, where young people also received badges and flyers.
As D-r Vesna Veljic-Stefanovska of the Association MIA told us, this action was part of the multiphase project "HIV/AIDS and Human Rights", supported by the Norwegian Embassy. The project’s goal is to act intensively on raising of public awareness of the need for preventing the spreading of this dangerous disease in Macedonia.
