An art exhibition organized by Art Studio
Works of art dedicated to the peace In September 2001, the UN member-countries have officially passed the A/Res/55/282 Resolution which proclaims 21 September International Peace Day. Every year, it is marked as a day of the global cease-fire and the termination of violence, as well as day of global peace union.
The NGO Art Studio took active part in marking the International Peace Day at the invitation from Jeremy Gillie from the global organization Peace one Day. On that occasion, an art exhibition was organized in the hall of the National University Library “St. Kliment Ohridski” in Skopje. Young authors from 12 countries exhibited their works at the exhibition.
“Art Studio’s goal is to inspire and motivate all citizens, as well as to set up a new platform where, through the process of artistic creation we would empower and cultivate a mature democratic society”, said Irena Gapkovska from Art Studio.
The exhibition was attended by a number of young artists from our country and it was opened by Gligor Tashkovikj, Minister of Foreign Investments at the Macedonian Government. Besides the works of art, a film containing peace messages, which arrived from London, was shown.
The event in Skopje, enriched with peace messages from Macedonia was filmed and it will be sent to London, where our countries’ participation will be shown at the event for marking the International Peace Day.
The skepticism that the peace will one day become a reality in the world is big and its real; however, the message of this event is to present the individual voice and to confirm another ideal at the International Peace Day – that the individual voice has an impact and power when it comes to solving the problems and conflicts on global level.
