Presentation Roma Women Active – “Prerodba” – Kicevo The Roma Women Active “Prerodba” from Kicevo is a civil society organization established in 2002 by a group of women and young Romas. The organization works in the field of involving more young Romas in the civil sector. It also provides help to women and children for resolving existing problems, promoting the health and the environmental issues, raising the level of education as well as reducing the rate of marriage among juveniles. One of its objectives is to grow into an educational center for that will self-resolve Roma problems, and in the last period it has realized several important activities for improving the health care, resolving family problems, etc. Together with the civil society organization “Vinozito”, in 2004, the members of “Prerodba” realized the project “Cattle breeding as a sustainable development in the community” and several local initiatives in cooperation with the Roma Union and “Bela Kula” this year, one of which was the participation at the regional NGO fair in Gostivar with a presentation on “Introducing the Roma culture and Roma cultural values to the municipality of Kicevo”. So far, the organization has realized several local initiatives in cooperation with civil society organizations from the region, as well as with the local communities, the municipality Red Cross and the local government. At the end of December in Kicevo, the draft-report on “Improving the socio-economic condition of Romas from Kicevo” will be presented. It is an initial document which serves as a guide for the Roma community in the town for the future period. The women active “Prerodba” has also established a network of Roma NGO on local level, and in this occasion, its members are informing all interested civil society organizations from the region and wider that in 007, they will be able to become part of the network for realizing mutual interests.
