“Medjashi” raises money for its activities

With phone donations against violence over children

This year, The First Children Embassy in the World “Medjashi” is selling Christmas cards made by children for the second time. The money raised from the activity will be used for the free SOS-phone for children and young people 0800 1 22 22, for the free children workshops and the other activities of the Children Embassy.

The Christmas cards show four original motives, authentic to the children’s drawings, with small computer interventions to the background. They are sold at a 25 denars per piece. The price includes the envelope.

The cards can be ordered on following numbers: 02/2463-900 and 02/2465-316, or via e-mail at info@childrensembassy.org.mk.

With these postcards, “Medjashi” took part in the Fairs that were held in our country in the month of December, such as the Cifte Amam Bazaar, The regional NGO fair in Strumica, the NGO fair in Gostivar, the bazaar organized by the International Women Organization, as well as the New Year’s Market at Skopje Fair. The sales and the delivery of the Christmas cards has been organized with the embassy’s volunteers’ assistance.

About 8.000 cards were sold by mid-December, which is 1.500 more than last year’s number. We are expecting that number to increase by the end of the month.

Apart from buying Christmas cards, the citizens can help the Children Embassy’s work by dialing the numbers that are open for donations: 075/143 424 and 070/143 424 and donate 50, i.e. 100 denars for the present campaign for stopping the violence against children in Macedonia.

“The special number for donations that we opened in cooperation with Cosmophone , started operating at the end of March 2006, while the T-Mobile number started later, un October. We also informed the citizens on the purpose of money we are trying to raise in this manner, that is via our electronic newsletter “Bushavko”. So far, we have raised 66.450 denars from the Cosmophone number, whereas the T-mobile number has been dialed 35 times, each time donating 100 denars”, said the “Medjashi” members in the middle of December.
